Full Job Description


PNTA is seeking to hire a part-time Lighting Technician (L2) to support our growing team and operations. All shifts are paid at a minimum of 4 hours and can vary from full days to 1-2hr requirements. Shifts are available every day of the week, during and after business hours. Since 1975, PNTA has served our local theater, nonprofit, and corporate communities through retail services, production rentals, systems integration, and event production. Our goal is to provide our clients with excellent customer service, clear communication, creative concepts for their productions, and flawless execution on deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining company safety standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines

  • Maintain excellent customer interactions when working on site

  • Displaying a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and kindness with clients and coworkers

    • Leading small teams of Grips loading in and setting up lighting equipment on site per instructions from L1 and/or Project Management

Qualifications


Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Capacity to work flexible hours including evenings, afterhours, and weekends

  • Dependability and punctuality

  • Hard-working and self-disciplined

  • Able to work well independently as well as with others

  • Flexible, able to respond with calm efficiency to unexpected or challenging situations

  • Ability to:

    • Run data/signal cable (DMX, wireless data, terminators and opto-splits)

    • Confidently operate a generator, tie- in and balance load

    • Demonstrate knowledge of various types of power distribution

    • Understand wattage, voltage, amperage and load balancing

    • Determine fixture placements/read plots and/hang address fixtures

    • Basic program with Jands or EOS systems

    • Confidently handle gels, gobos and diffusion

    • Show basic understanding of rigging

    • Understand basic power distribution (pagodas, spider boxes, dimmer racks, etc)

Preferred

  • Knowledge of local event services vendors

  • Familiarity with local venues and the Greater Seattle area

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
